The Hamptons are home to the some of the best art, in any form, in the country. Two of the best-known cultural institutions are the Parrish Art Museum and The Hamptons International Film Festival.
The Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill opened in 1898. It has hosted shows by Jennifer Barlett and Malcolm Morley since its move to a new location in 2013, and its Midsummer Party is always a gathering for the who’s who of the art world.
The Hamptons International Film Festival is held every October and attracts filmmakers like Steven Soderbergh, Darren Aronofsky, and Matthew Broderick. It attracts international filmmakers with its championship of independent films.
