Napa Valley’s leading luxury Real Estate broker Cyd Greer, shares insight into her business during the holiday season
The holiday season is amongst us. Please tell us how your market begins to transition during this time of year. Is this a good time buy or to sell?
Our market is dominated by second home buyers, so after Thanksgiving, our activity slows down considerably. It’s a less than optimal time to be a seller, but for buyers who have time during the holidays or the January doldrums, they will have a distinct competitive advantage. Properties are still available. Sometimes it takes some extra digging to find out about those special off-market offerings, but the rewards can be sweet.
What are some of the key things to remember while networking with new potential clients during the holidays, a careful balance of business and character?
Stay on task, but don’t forget to be present in the moment. The holidays are special, yes, but taking time to listen and to express gratitude, is so important, no matter the time of the year.
How do you communicate with your community about your business during this time of year?
I’m fortunate to live in a very small town with wonderful holiday events where I can wish community members a happy holiday. There’s nothing like a personal greeting. I also enjoy sending out customized Christmas cards to clients with a photo of their property on the card!
